Does anyone know of a good online video cropper? I've tried a few like Kapwing but they keep asking for money to handle larger files. Or they let me do it but put a watermark on. I'm trying to extract the BAD performance of All Saints Road on Wired from a large Mp4 file. Also need to crop the top of the picture to remove the timestamp.
Sorry can't help. I've got Wondershare but it's not a freebie.

Can I ask does your version of "The Battle of All Saints Road" suffer from the same TV background noise as the one on YT?

I'm putting together a live compilation of BAD tracks and that version is great but the one I have has noise behind the track that I can't remove sadly. The version of "Esquerita" you posted is lovely and clean.

It is pristine mate, same source as Esquerita. Also have the Tube and Eurotube appearances straight from the master reel. Just say the word if you want me to send any of them over.

Hey Windows nerds,

I have an old Mac laptop that I'm not using that I figured I'd turn into a Windows machine for those rare times it's needed (specifically, there's an overhead camera book scanner that I'm sorta interested in, but it's Windows only). Mac's OSX is always free, but am I correct in thinking Windows isn't?

Yours in Christ …

Windows free.

Not sure how suitable Mac hardware is with Windows OS.

Is the piece of hardware you are referring to compatible with Linux?

You can also run Windows as a VM (virtual machine, a computer instance that runs in software) under Apple OS, but Windows OS still aint free but Im pretty sure a legit copy can be gotten fairly cheap.

Not a clue about any of that. All I know is that when Apple switched to Intel chips maybe a decade ago, it was possible to install Windows on it. The laptop in question is about five years old, so it should be fine-ish for my limited needs, tho perhaps not for the most current version of Windows.

Once upon a time, I installed Parallels to run something or other, but I found it really clumsy. I figured a proper Boot Camp installation would run better, but who knows.

So, I should look … elsewhere … for a Windows install package?

You can purchase legit copy of Win 10 for around $100. But your 5 year old hardware is probably better suited for Win 8

As for a VM option you can try running virtual box it is free you would still need a windows OS to run in it.. Ive never used parallels as I hate most apple products.

Yeah, I figured 8 would be more its speed. So if I ask around to some friends in town to see if they have an install disc I can use, does it require a product key to run? Just wondering whether I need to also find a key generator.

The main problem with those things, I think, is that you're running two OS' simultaneously. If I did the Boot Camp thing, as I understand it I'd have to boot up in one system or another.

So first question : I dont deal much with installing windows anymore but Yeah, pretty sure you would still need a product key.

As for running VMs, Ive done it a lot and most computers from the past 10 years are quite capable of running VMs with little to no hit in performance.

Alrighty. Shouldn't be hard to find a keygen app.

In the end, tho, I wouldn't be using this machine much anyway, so I don't need to be able to switch back and forth on the fly. Installing a VM package seems like an extra step that isn't all that necessary. All a moot point, tho, if I don't locate a Windows install disc.

Also if the hardware in question will run under Ubuntu or other mature Linux distro you could go that route.

I realize the geek in me likes these more technical solutions because stuff like that is "fun" for me.

But if this book scanner I'm thinking about requires Windows, that wouldn't help me, no?

Yes if Windows is explicitly required that's what you'll need.

Okay, yeah. As I mentioned, it's not something I expect to use often. I just figured that because I have this extra laptop sitting idle, I could set it up for those rare times when my Mac can't do the job.
