Kaleb took me to The Idle Hour, a restored restaurant from the programmatic architecture era: https://www.idlehourbar.com/
Kaleb, as one would assume, is awesome and I highly recommend him as one of LA's pemiere tourist attractions. We ended our evening, as required by IMCT law, listening to cut the crap (the rebooted version, in this case).

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

This was a hoot and a half. Too bad Tep betrayed me and moved to Texas. Could have put a stop to that Kaleb's girlfriend business once and for all.Flex wrote: ↑10 May 2023, 10:50amKaleb took me to The Idle Hour, a restored restaurant from the programmatic architecture era: https://www.idlehourbar.com/

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I almost left it there too “by accident.” Waitress chased me down on the way out.

Re: The IMCT observations thread
Flexy came over to Casa Hoy on Friday night. His vacation from domesticity came to a crashing halt with my two monsters running around. We did have a casual hang initially and I threw CTC on. June and her friend barged in and my gut reaction was "this is not appropriate for children." Not because of any lyrical issues, just the horrific sound of the album seems like it would be traumatic to children.
After beer, I forced this video on Flex and my wife:
I still can't get over the Joe Piscapo Bruce parody. It should be "Born in the USA" melody with lyrical modifications to make it about Surfing in the USA instead, but it's a totally different melody, though similar rhythm. It's like almost a parody, almost a rewrite. Just baffling.
June and her friend put me n Flex in jail as well.

June got this Polaroid of Flex for proof of life.

Certainly traumatic to this Clash fan.
