Image is moving their distribution from Diamond to Lunar, the company that has been handling DC since they also moved off Diamond. On one hand, this could be good news in that it releases the Diamond stranglehold on the direct market, on the other hand, I hope smaller publishers can quickly pivot to another distributor as Diamond probably won't last long without the big three.

Re: Flex and Wolter's Den of Nerdly Awesomeness
Back in the 50s, when the comics biz went into a tailspin, Fredric Wertham's crusade was blamed, but other scholars have argued it was a lot more mundane what happened: the major distributor of comics, American News Co., quit (it abandoned distribution after the federal justice department threatened anti-trust prosecution because ANC also owned retail operations). Dozens of comics publishers went under because they were already operating on tight margins and couldn't secure new distribution in time. It's a cooler story to tell, with Wertham as supervillain, but the primary answer is almost certainly more boring, structural stuff.Kory wrote: ↑25 May 2023, 1:02pmImage is moving their distribution from Diamond to Lunar, the company that has been handling DC since they also moved off Diamond. I'm sure Lichtenstein ripped them off at some point.

I always knew that Bob Hope was a groomer, but Frankenstein? That hurts.

Very, very psyched for this. It's a rare show that its creators became more meticulous and engaging as it went on. That alone is why they deserved to go out on their terms.
