What the absolute fuck is this shit with having the catcher mic'd up during play? And the announcers asking him questions between pitches?

Ive seen it with other players, I think it is a dumb distraction for the player.

Aside from the pitcher, there's absolutely nobody else on the field whose attention is more focused pitch-to-pitch. How the fuck does a team allow that?

I'm sure there's some shitty contractual obligation ESPN has with the league that compels teams to put up with this shit

Really need a player to just let it rip with a "Jesus assraping Christ, you goddamned fucking bastard!"

Also: I stayed up the whole way for this one. It won't show up in the boxscores, but I was part of the win.

So, for two days this week, its the "subway series" part 1, Yankees vs. Mets. No Aaron Judge and no Pete Alonso. The Mets are absolutely reeling, and showing the signs of a bad team. The Yankees are the Yankees, doing well in spite of injuries. The biggest difference between the two teams is the depth. The Yankees have organizational depth, and the Mets do not. The Mets really need to, I can't believe i'm saying this, spend more money acquiring depth. Every team gets injuries, the better teams have guys that can step in and give quality results and the Mets, in dire need of it, do not have it.
Its always fun when the two teams play each other, its just another series in actuality but i'd say the Mets need to win the games more than the Yankees do.
Then again, the Mets can't beat the Rockies, they can't beat the Pirates, they can't beat the Braves, they can't beat the Brewers, what makes me think they can beat the Yankees? Tonight as I type this, there is nothing that makes me think they will win.
But I will enjoy the games anyway.
From what I see there's still a little hope
