In a vain effort to prove that I don't belong on a retirement ice floe, for the first time in my life I deposited a cheque with the whole take-a-picture thingee dealie. It's not that I'm stuck in my ways here; it's very rare that I receive physical cheques so the issue rarely comes up. But I took a look at myself in the mirror (figuratively) and made an admission: I really don't feel like walking a half hour to the bank machine to deposit this.
Next you're going to tell us you broke down and bought one of those newfangled DVD players!
*snort* I don't follow no fad.
Still rockin' the Betamax?
All I need in life is my Betamax copies of Tron and Caveman. Pretty sure no good movies have been released since then.
Hello,

Before then, either.

I woke up at 1:00 am with a searing pain in my shoulder. I think I pinched a nerve in my neck, because it gets a bit better when I am standing up. So i might try to sleep like a horse tonight.

Hello,

I'm not if that may be due to something else but applying a electric heating pad may help while lying down. That may help the compensatory muscles relax.

How's your tolerance to muscle relaxants? Apart from gkbill's heating pad advice, that's what I'd try, but I've known a few people to respond poorly to muscle relaxants.

That's exactly what I did - I tried ice at first, but it made it worse somehow. Taking scalding hot showers and the heating pad has definitely helped! Thank you.

Yeah - they make me super groggy. As mentioned, I have been taking scalding hot showers and using the heating pad. I also took some Aleve. Definitely helping.

If you've never tried it, Tiger Balm is seriously good shit. It'll burn like the devil's breath on chili night at first, but it is legit good with muscle ache. A masseuse turned me on to it—said it's the only stuff worth a damn.

I actually have a little jar of it - the smell is so off-putting that I haven't tried it yet. But I think I will later.

Wear an exercise shirt or something like that over it because, yeah, it's pungent and will get into your clothes.
