Oh geez, I remember having those discussions with my grandpa. He tried to recruit my friend and I to "bust him out".

My mother went into a nursing home after a fall that presumably gave her a concussion. She rapidly went downhill from there, but one of her recurring scenarios was that the RCMP were breaking into her room while she slept and stealing from her. She was usually lucid enough to know that wasn't true, but she was still compromised enough that she couldn't understand why she was having these false beliefs.
