No doubt. I had a friend going to school in Iowa with me who was from California—not sure where exactly—and he said he'd never had a job that was less than a 90 minute drive. I remind myself of that whenever I grumble about a rare drive across town and it takes more than 20 minutes. I'm fine with having to walk 30 mins or so to work, but sitting in a car that doesn't move grinds my gears.tepista wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 12:01pmPeople here describe in Austin describe the traffic as bad, we try not to be dicks by saying "we're from LA" but we just give each other they look.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Jan 2022, 9:28pmJesus Christ, that's madness. in 2017 my job moved locations, changing my commute from 25 minutes each way to 70. I said "just you wait and see, in four years I'll be OUTTA HERE!"Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 12:35pmNo doubt. Living in So Cal I can confirm your commute times are about right. I was fortunate that the jobs I held had early start times which made the travel times bearable, but going home was always anther story.tepista wrote: ↑13 Jan 2022, 8:52pmAnaheim was 2 hours from us anyway. 45 minutes away at 4am, but 2 hours any other time of day.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jan 2022, 1:48pm3 hours? What infuriated me was that was 2 hours a day I could be spending watching Italian prostitute murder movies.Olaf wrote: ↑14 Jan 2022, 2:57pmThat's pretty much the time I need to get to work and back.
