Well, you're either in denial about your monstrousness or you have more friends than you believe!

People with more than 5 friends are losers? Isn’t that the opposite definition?

No no, a real man maintains his independence from all the parasites of society.

Is that Pacino's seriously annoying character in Scent of a Woman?

I've seen it once and it confirmed to me how much Pacino annoys me. Even more than Nicholson annoys me. They may be Significant Actors, but they're fucking hams most of the time.

Hmmm. I associate both with some mega-classic performances, but now that you mention it I can't actually think of the last film from either that I a) saw, or b) enjoyed. So let's see:

Al Pacino:
Most recent film Flex saw of his: the Irishman and Once Upon a Time in Holleywood (2019)
Most recent film Flex enjoyed: Okay, both those were good and recent. Before that, I guess he was in Oceans's 13 (2007) which I broadly remember enjoying but recall neither the particulars of the movie or his performance. Ditto Insomnia (2002). Gotta go back to The Devil's Advocate (1997) for a film role of his that I distinctly remember. And he was hamming it the fuck up to the max (that was the fun of it). Looking at his filmography, he actually seems sorta selective. Not TOO many brazen cash-ins. I respect that.

Jack Nicholson:
Most recent film Flex saw of his: The Departed (2006 - and Nicholson hasn't been in a film since 2010, so that would explain not remembering anything of his recently)
Most recent film Flex enjoyed: The Departed was good! Not because of him, though. He was in a lot of crappy movies in the 90s and 2000s that I mostly avoided, but he was fun in the very enjoyable Mars Attacks! (1996). Like Pacino's Devil's Advocate, that's a film that works by leaning full tilt into the ham. Most of the 80s and 90s stuff that works for him works because of the ham (his Joker, for example). Even The Shining (1980) is him being a Jack Nicholson loon in part. That's probably the last movie I really think of him being an actual good actor. Looking at his credits, he was so good in so many movies up through that one tho.
