Hello,
As a proof of mankind's continued evolution...or it is de-evolution?
The United States is getting passed in everything! If only there was a man or a movement with intent to recapture past greatness, again.
Something like that can only succeed with an obese leader to inspire, someone with a sincere appreciation for high calorie, low nutrition foods.
Add in some fried okra on the side, hush puppies, greens, sweet tea, and you got yourself a customer.
I worked with this guy from Maryland and he was trying to tell me about Old Bay but his fucking Maryland accent made the words indecipherable. He also said it like it was one word. Which brings me to my other Old Bay story... was working in Virginia and my colleague and I patched in several thousand cables one day to the point my finger tips were cracked and raw. We went out for dinner and there was a special of like a pound of shrimp with Old Bay seasoning. I was all over that. But the damn place didn't bother to mention Id have to peel the fuckers before I ate them. Who/why cook shrimp with the fucking shells on them? My fingers were stinging something fierce.
The shells are full of flavor. It sucks but it's true.revbob wrote: ↑16 Feb 2021, 7:43pm

So you're saying cooking them with the shells on imparts special flavor that is otherwise soarly missed if they are peeled before cooking?BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 10:39amYou don't eat them. I buy it. The best chefs in the world (southeast Asians/American soul food) always cook in shell. If it's good enough for them.
Cool, share the recipe too. I usually do a garlic and white wine sautee or grilled with spices for a fajita.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑17 Feb 2021, 1:16pmI buy it. The best chefs in the world (southeast Asians/American soul food) always cook in shell. If it's good enough for them.
I'll do a test the next time shrimps are on sale.
