Yeah, I only use mechanical keyboards for work or studio stuff. I can type a lot faster on them for some reason.

It's a curious thing that those older keyboards are more satisfying. Is it purely tactile or is there an interplaying of touch and sound at work?

When I was at my aunts house recently, she asked me to search my recently passed uncle’s closet to see if there were any clothes I’d want. I reluctantly went to the closet and stumbled across this.
So my aunt is a low grade hoarder but this was the one thing I immediately saw and was like, “that’s worth something!”
Just sold it on eBay for about $1500. Money is going to help my aunt. If she doesn’t want it, we will give to charity. This was my cousin who passed in 2009’s game so we wouldn’t do anything else with the money.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Wow, that’s awesome! Did you list it as an auction or buy-it-now? It was my first time selling it on ebay, so I foolishly allowed offers, so no one was bidding, just sending me offers in about the same range. Ended up having to facilitate a sorta bid. Ended up selling to one guy that I liked more than the other, though I could have maybe gotten more from the other guy.Kimmelweck wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 11:47amWow, that’s awesome! Feels better when you can make those distinctions. When my mother sold her house, it happened during an absurdly hot seller’s market, and she had three bids, all over asking, so she chose the one from a couple with two small children. Within a few years, they let the house and yard go to fuck, so she regretted it a bit, but you can’t tell how people will treat a property.matedog wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 11:48amIt was my first time selling it on ebay, so I foolishly allowed offers, so no one was bidding, just sending me offers in about the same range. Also, good on you for offering it to your aunt, or giving it to charity.

Wow! I had no idea old NES stuff was worth that kind of money, what a wonderful thing to do on behalf of your aunt.matedog wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 11:32amWhen I was at my aunts house recently, she asked me to search my recently passed uncle’s closet to see if there were any clothes I’d want. Now you've got me thinking about taking a look at our old NES and all the games, probably all still in the box, hardly ever used them.

Re: Vintage Videogaming
Very interesting story.
My daughter and I rehabbed my old NES over Christmas Break, but then I discovered the world of emulators, so I now have one running off my laptop that can emulate NES, Super NES, Genesis, etc. Plug it into the TV, pair it with some retro Blue Tooth game controllers and I have access to every game I ever wanted as a kid (and more)!?

Hello,
If anyone has the expertise and/or knowledge about how to play Flash Fabrica games (specifically the Instantaneous Memory Game), I'd love to be able to play that game post-Flash player.

Yeah, I'm going to make sure not to track the guy I'm selling to. I'm worried he might turn around and flip it. Re: Vintage Videogaming
I had read random articles about this game over the years. I remember when it first came out, so I was surprised it was worth so much. I was a Genesis guy, so I didn't follow too closely at the time, but apparently it was one of those great games that wasn't appreciated at the time/didn't sell well. Now it has a cult following and copies are rare due to initial poor sales figures. The box on my aunt's even has a "$70" price tag and another one "Reduced $49."Sparky wrote: ↑07 Mar 2023, 12:07pmWow! This one is particularly valuable because it came with an oversized box (SNES boxes were usually just slightly larger than the game) for the user manual that came with it (also in the photo I posted).
