I love the LucasArts games, especially when they decided to be funny (Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, etc.)

eummy, you ever play Zak McKracken and the Alien Mind Benders? LucasArts second game they made after Maniac Mansion.
I have it, but I've only gone as far as the title sequence--haven't had the time to play.

I'm also sort of rage-addicted to Manic Miner because it's so difficult. Which interferes with my exploration of other games.

I believe ScummVM plays most LucasArt/point-and-click games of that era.

Yup. I've never had any problem with it.

Monkey Island is my favorite, followed by Loom, but all those Scumm titles are worthwhile.

LucasArts made some great damn games in the 90s.

The description of Manic Miner reminded me of the first and only game I ever played on a TRaSh-80, Downland.

I remember when Reagan made our imminent nuclear annihilation FUN!

Man, I could beat this thing on my Atari 800 emulator today as unconsciously as I could on my Atari 800 in '84. And those later levels got tricky as fuck. All that's missing is enough BASIC programming skill to patch in an 8-bit "Stop The World" soundtrack. :shifty:

Still not crazy about Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge.

I'm sorry, O-B-E-Y and C-O-N-S-U-M-E Millennials. If it has an anytime sleep/resume mode instead of being required to leave it on-pause overnight or just powering through on 12 hours straight sleepless sugar high, you are not vicariously living through my childhood. If your carefully curated and unexpandable game selection doesn't offer any direct exposure to some of the mildly-offensive 80's stereotypes available in hundreds of games (even some of the very best ones!) one used to be able to rent for 2 days at any video store in the land, you are not vicariously living through my childhood. If it doesn't take 5 minutes for you to physically blow out the dust in the @#$% contacts and fuck around with the @#% loading spring mechanism so the @#% @#% @#$% red light stops blinking, you are not @#$% living it "old school" you lazy shits. :naughty:

Also...you do realize what ass 8-bit graphics look like on HD without the soft-focus pixellation of RF signals piped through ye olde standard def radiation tube? I guarantee you my original-purchase 1988 control deck sitting 5 feet behind me looks better on my HDTV run at standard def through a regular old analog RCA video cable than your new hipster consumable does through its digital HDMI cable. By a lot. No, shut up...that's not my nostalgia talking, that's you having as limited an understanding of how HD signals work as you apparently do of Crystal Pepsi objectively sucking.

I used to have a link to a website with a load of old Atari games you could play on line. One of the games (the only one I was good at) was Missile Command.
I got the link on here, does anyone know where I can find it or the game??

I blame the goddanged Colecovision and Intellivision for putting such nonsense in kids' heads. One stick, one button, and one hand on the jug o' sarsparilla!
