I'm surprised I've never seen it here, we have plenty of pizza and plenty of Indian places.

I've made pizza on Naan bread with Chili, it was good as hell.
Re: The Mighty Pizza Thread
Cauliflower seems like a sure way to ruin a pizza.

Speaking of Indian pizza, going to have to disagree with y'all on this one. The place near us makes a mean aloo gobi pizza:
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Cauliflower is god's test to see whether his favoured creatures are intelligent enough not to eat garbage plants.

That looks good, no cauliflower. Cauliflower is like albino flavorless broccoli. I like broccoli but am consistently bored by cauliflower.matedog wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 9:56amSpeaking of Indian pizza, going to have to disagree with y'all on this one. The place near us makes a mean aloo gobi pizza:
Indian pizza is great. For some reason I've only seen it out west which is a shame.
Re: The Mighty Pizza Thread
Yeah I'm good with broccoli but I don't want it on my pizza either cauliflower is nasty in every form. People can fuck right off with their cauliflower rice.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 10:31amThat looks good, no cauliflower. Cauliflower is like albino flavorless broccoli. I like my pizza light on toppings. I think we Americans have some idea in our heads that we're being cheated unless there's a gross pile of food in front of us. Pizza is an eat with your hands food for me. If there is too much stuff on there to pick it up by the crust, fold it in half with one hand and stick it in your food hole.
Extra point if you use the paper plate as a catch basin for the oil.

This board's view of pizza is akin to those dudes in their 50s that still have mohawks and refuse to listen to anything but punk.

For real. Kory is the only one who gets it. Flex is almost there. The further west you get, the more enlightened you are re: pizza.

Vanguardists who think the herd is dim are the greatest obstacle to progress.

Yeah I agree on the toppings. I lean the same way on sandwiches. I have a friend who tries to get so much shit on his sandwiches.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑31 Mar 2020, 11:51amI like my pizza light on toppings. Re: The Mighty Pizza Thread
I never understood this. I rarely order a burger out because it always just a mess. Most places give you like a half pound of meat which is just too much for me. I think when McDonald's came out with their Quarter Pounder in the 70s it was considered a big burger and now it looks tiny. The whole purpose of a sandwich is that you can pick it up and eat it with minimal mess. If you can't bite the thing without making a giant mess it sort of defeats the point.
Back to pizza... I'm going to get some take-out bar pie for dinner. I might go for the bean special at the Lynwood.
