In the 21st century, Canada is going to be a world player.

It's a shame that it was a prelude for their who-cares-about-catchy-music-anymore stage of their career.
I've been going through some of their albums. It's all different shades of decent up to "Out of Time" then a slight rebound with "Automatic for the People" . But boy does "Out of Time" seriously suck.

The IRS thesis. Everything on IRS is pretty fucking awesome, then Green was about half good, and everything after is increasingly lousy, with the significant exception of Automatic, which is mostly superb. No band better deserves the tag line, "They're older stuff is better."

REM is Georgia’s version of Rush. Has Michael Stipe been #metoo’d yet? If not I’d bet decent money it’s coming.

Hey Doc, Is Canadian Thanksgiving a big deal at all?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, it's a stat holiday, traveling to family, big meal, and all that stuff. It doesn't have the orgy of Christmas shopping the next day, tho.

Please—the government hands them out when you go for your free checkup. However, we do have to pay for our own Wayne Gretzky jerseys.
