The Job Search Woes Thread
The Job Search Woes Thread
I just need a place to whine and motivate. What better place than a public forum.

Re: The Job Search Woes Thread
My woe is this: I have decided that, despite being a feminist, I would like to be a lady of leisure. Sure, I will do some "volunteer work" (i.e. lend my name to a gala committee), but otherwise, I will dedicate my life to going to Pilates in the morning and coffee klatches in the afternoon. The only problem is that I can't afford to do this.
Got a Rake? Sure!

I have been there and it is a Purgatory. What kind of work are you looking for?Mimi wrote:I just need a place to whine and motivate. What better place than a public forum.

I'd like to get back into IT but my skills are dated.

Consider creatively bullshitting. Sadly honestly rarely gets you ahead.Mimi wrote:One that pays.BostonBeaneater wrote:I have been there and it is a Purgatory. What kind of work are you looking for?Mimi wrote:I just need a place to whine and motivate. What better place than a public forum.

It would be if I didn't have to worry about money. :)Mimi wrote:It's not all it's cracked up to be.JennyB wrote:My woe is this: I have decided that, despite being a feminist, I would like to be a lady of leisure. I was working as a stay-at-home dad, but thanks to our insurance not covering my son's autism therapies, I'm deep in the hunt for a job with good pay/insurance and that isn't happening. Ugh.Mimi wrote:I just need a place to whine and motivate. What better place than a public forum.

Rarely do I call for rounding any group up for hanging but I would do so for insurance executives.*Wolter wrote:I was working as a stay-at-home dad, but thanks to our insurance not covering my son's autism therapies, I'm deep in the hunt for a job with good pay/insurance and that isn't happening. And yes, there are not enough lampposts for the insurance industry.

It still boggles my mind that we live in a country where a devastating illness or other diagnosis that is not one's fault can completely bankrupt a person. If my parents didn't help us out when Scott got sick, we would have been screwed.BostonBeaneater wrote:Rarely do I call for rounding any group up for hanging but I would do so for insurance executives.*Wolter wrote:I was working as a stay-at-home dad, but thanks to our insurance not covering my son's autism therapies, I'm deep in the hunt for a job with good pay/insurance and that isn't happening.
