It's looking fairly certain that my job is going overseas so back to the hunt. I have been asked by several people to represent the workers in negotiations which I would be proud to do and would benefit me because it would mean my last few weeks in the office wouldn't be spent trying to get people to work with the knowledge that they'll be sacked.

Well, that stinks. Fingers crossed that you'll find new work sooner rather than later.

That really sucks. I keep hearing stories of jobs heading overseas and of the people losing them actually having to train those who are going to be taking over from them. Its thoroughly depressing.

Sorry to hear that, James. You will make a great organizer though, and maybe this will help lead to something better. Good luck.

It has happened here with large corporates. There are towns in India where people live by NZ hours / UK hours depending on who you work for.
Most of it didn’t work and now they are bringing the jobs back.

Best of luck James. If I was asked to train my replacement and I wasn't leaving on my own accord I would throw such a wrench in the works.
