The Mandela Effect
Anyone heard of this? I've been reading about it today and found it quite interesting.
Before I provide a link, here's a couple of questions (no googling)...
1) In Snow White, what are the exact words said by the Queen when she looks in the mirror?
2) What are the name of these bears?

Was wrong (albeit popularly so) on the first, but correct on the second.

Correct on second, wrong on first. The Mandela Effect seems like something that sounds plausible when you're super high.

Weird. Maybe you've been eating too much tinned sandwich filling. Or not enough. I'm never quite sure how it works with you.Heston wrote:I haven't even had a smoke today...honest.

2. I remembered it as Berenstein because stain is a weird way to spell it.
3. No idea.
4. Sex IN the City makes more sense, hence the mistake. See #2.
5. Yeah, not sure how that became switched
6. I can never remember how to spell Chick Filet Fil A Chic whatever.
7. Luke is said so people know what the hell you are talking about.
8. Not sure.
Don't know about the rest. Forrest Gump has both lines "Life was like" and "Life is a box," so it's combined as such. Plus I think that's how it's promoted.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Re: The Mandela Effect
Recently saw the Eddie The Eagle movie as I remember him well from when I was a kid watching him at the Olympics then afterwards on kids TV like Blue Peter and Swap Shop etc.. So I was surprised to find out the Olympics were in 88 and I was 22!!!! Not only did I not watch kids TV in 88 I did not have a TV and was in my Widerness Years and did not watch any TV.
I told this story to several people and they all thought that Eddie The Eagle was at least 10 years earlier when they were kids also.
