With friends instead of family this year and it rules.
I’m in France and ate some duck.
I love duck, for years that was our small family's Thanksgiving day bird.

I chopped a shit ton of wood this year. I think the matedong grew a half an inch because I never do anything remotely manly.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I've realised I don't even know what Thanksgiving is. Is it a bit like our Harvest festival? I could google it but can you just describe it in five words?
It's the celebration of the colonists' genocide of the natives, and eating onesself into a coma before standing in line outside the mall at midnight to riot for doorbuster Xmas shopping deals. Oh, and the Dallas Cowboys always play for some reason.
Why isn't Wiki like this?
For the record, I love that we grade Ratty on a curve when it comes to “five words.”

Thanks for the music, Flex!

My Thanksgiving was uneventful, which is always a good thing.

We ducked it this year but I am very thankful that my immediate family is a pretty good bunch. Since my grandmom passed 20 years ago we have very little contact with the more trumpian parts of my family.

My quest of extending the spooky season deep into November has paid dividends as I'm transitioning seamlessly to the Thanksgiving->Christmas mindset without even having to be annoyed at what a dud the first half of November usually is. Anyways, I'm always trying to build Holiday playlists and I thought I'd share some Thanksgiving winners. Share your own if you have some music you like to bring out for the Turkey season!

Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant (duh)

Ray Davies - Thanksgiving Day

Vince Guaraldi Trio - Thanksgiving Theme

George Winston - Thanksgiving

Bob Dylan - Country Pie (his official album versions are only available to paid YouTube subscribers, lol)

Adam Sandler - The Thanksgiving Song (sorry not sorry)

Ella Fitgerald - Early Autumn

There's more, but that's a start.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

Like Sting's romantic advice, I'm letting the pent up excitement for the new releases build until it all explodes on Black Friday.
