I was at a party couple of weeks ago and couldn’t hear a word anyone was saying.

Sounds pretty sweet to me. I actually have a difficult time at busy social gatherings. Too many conversations going on around me can make me physically ill (possibly epilepsy related).

Earplug, headphones, same diff …

My wireless earbuds crapped out on me during my row this morning. I thought the battery had just gone dead, but after recharging they don't click on—just static from the left channel—so I guess that's that. Not a huge loss, as I got them with airmiles, but I did grow used to the wireless experience. A friend of the wife highly recommended some AfterShokz, which are bone conduction style. The gimmick aspect pretty much sucked me in (plus the price at Costco was justifiable). Not to bothered about some sacrifice in fidelity because I only use them for audiobooks, plus I would like to also hear the rush of the water while rowing. The 10 mins I rowed this morning without the audiobook was pretty soothing listening to the water swoosh in the drum.

remember when Droopy kept home-aloning up those bankrobbers and they kept running up the hill to scream so the sheriff wouldn't wake up, and in the end it turned out the battery in his hearing aid was dead? That's gotta be a top 10 cartoon of all time.

Droopy Dog was great. Then they tried to revive it and it sucked.

Those headphones arrived. A seriously weird experience to hear clearly while having your ears free to hear the outside world. Haven't tried them with music, but I suspect the quality drop-off would be quite noticeable from conventional headphones. But for just speech, they more than do the job.

If they help you to hear Swans more clearly then clearly they have failed.

You should cut down on your pork life and get some exercise.

Remember how Iggy, as a modern guy, has of course had it in the ear before? Well, that can't happen overnight. You need to stretch the ear out over time.
