That's some positive news. All the best to you and yours.Kimmelweck wrote: ↑07 Mar 2022, 11:04pmWell, little brother finally got home today, after 5 nights (!) in the hospital. Re: Middle age health thread for fatties
I have to go in for my yearly physical tomorrow. I don't normally care, but now at 45 I know the dreaded word "colonoscopy" is in my future. I do sometimes struggle with healthy anxiety, so yeah - I've been counting down the days with a certain sense of dread. I know it's the right thing to do, but still doesn't mean I'm looking forward to it. I'm coping tonight by having a few beers to ease the tension.

Dude, it aint nothing. You drink the nasty shit and then you just get up and shit wvery 15 minutes until you're on E (empty). They put you out there's really nothing to the procedure. Its the prep that sucks, (not eating/shitting your brains out) that is the worst part. I had a nice burger and fries after.WestwayKid wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 6:13pmI have to go in for my yearly physical tomorrow. Like revbob said, the prep is worse than the procedure, just make sure you're home and nobody is hogging the bathroom, could be tragic.WestwayKid wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 6:13pmI have to go in for my yearly physical tomorrow. Also, don't be stupid like me and decide that since you're stuck at home on "prep" day you'll just get a ladder out and do some chores. Damn near killed myself trying to get from up on the ladder to the shitter on short notice.

God, that stuff they make you drink to get the process flowing is keck incarnate.Sparky wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 7:25pmLike revbob said, the prep is worse than the procedure, just make sure you're home and nobody is hogging the bathroom, could be tragic.WestwayKid wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 6:13pmI have to go in for my yearly physical tomorrow. My shit is the best part of my day, especially on fiber week. I day of shitting honestly doesn't sound that bad. Maybe I'm underestimating how unpleasant this really is.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: Middle age health thread for fatties
Yeah you are. Think of the wost diarrhea you ever had and multiply x10. Basically you drink this concoction that eventually makes it feel like you're peeing out your ass. And you're supposed to get to the point where your asshole pee is clear. It's far from your usual one and done scenario.
Re: Middle age health thread for fatties
I think this is where the term "pissing out of your ass" came from.

Y'all are ruining Hoy's monoscat fetish.

I also dont recommend shoveling snow while doing colonoscopy prep. No doubt Hoy thinks it would be his own version of Disneyland.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 8:58amY'all are ruining Hoy's monoscat fetish.

I have a terrible vision of Hoy doing snow angels, his face pure glee, while the snow slowly browns south of the equator.revbob wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022, 9:09amI also dont recommend shoveling snow while doing colonoscopy prep. While I'm enjoying the graphic descriptions of these events, my experience was much less dramatic. Yes, I eliminated most of the fecal matter in my colon resulting in mainly water being excreted. I was emptying regularly but not irregularly (not that often). You'll basically sleep through the actual event - a pretty decent nap. Consider it a short term weight loss program.
