Re: Middle age health thread for fatties
I studied Shaolin Kempo for a few years when I was younger and we often incorporated Tai Chi in to our warm up and stretching routines.

I've done it a couple times when they've offered it at our local Chinese* brewery. Can't say I was that good at it, but it was very mindful, which I liked.
*Until last week, when they rebranded as a heavy metal themed brewery. Which you'd think I'd be into, but now it's way less interesting.

Not tai chi, but I attained a black belt in a hapkido-adjacent martial art. It's a pretty damn good workout that I'd recommend.

I think I need something more meditative and less joint impactful. I hear its good for reducing stress and that's what I need / am looking for. Being a full time malcontent isn't as easy as it looks.

I've taken up yoga once a week and it has done some wonders, particularly the lower back and shoulders. I do the old lady yoga, nothing too crystal swinger.Flex wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 5:28pmHigh recommendation for tai chi in that case

We should open up a gym in an old bar. Wouldn't even have to renovate.Flex wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 8:16pmMore booze?revbob wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 8:12pmIt got me this far sure but looking for something to add to my arsenal, especially in the mornings or during the work day.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Feb 2024, 7:05pmBooze?
