I studied Shaolin Kempo for a few years when I was younger and we often incorporated Tai Chi in to our warm up and stretching routines.

I've done it a couple times when they've offered it at our local Chinese* brewery. Can't say I was that good at it, but it was very mindful, which I liked.

*Until last week, when they rebranded as a heavy metal themed brewery. Which you'd think I'd be into, but now it's way less interesting.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Not tai chi, but I attained a black belt in a hapkido-adjacent martial art. It's a pretty damn good workout that I'd recommend.

I think I need something more meditative and less joint impactful. I hear its good for reducing stress and that's what I need / am looking for. Being a full time malcontent isn't as easy as it looks.

High recommendation for tai chi in that case

I've taken up yoga once a week and it has done some wonders, particularly the lower back and shoulders. I do the old lady yoga, nothing too crystal swinger.

It got me this far sure but looking for something to add to my arsenal, especially in the mornings or during the work day.

We should open up a gym in an old bar. Wouldn't even have to renovate.
