I'm very pro fizzy water (and the flavored carbonated waters like bubbly and la Croix and such), it made it a hell of a lot easier to cut out soda/beer/etc. when I'm just sitting around and whatnot. Tap water is dull and tedious, I'll drink it when I'm working oit5 or whatever obviously but it doesn't sub as a leisure drink for me.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

We drink an absurd amount of gassed water. Have you considered a soda stream? I’m thinking about getting one. The base one is $89 which is like 3 months of La Croix in our house.

Yeah, I have a soda stream too, it works great. I just like to keep some of the flavored stuff in the mix as well, but the soda stream is great.

Why do people need fizz in a drink? Just makes me burp.

For the same reason we use spices and seasoning on food—it adds to the taste. Beer and pop that's gone flat isn't as flavourful as that which is properly carbonated.

Good beer is not heavily carbonated.

As for water I like water just fine. I mostly drink something other than water for caffeine and am drinking my sparkling caffeinated lightly flavored no artificial sweeteners water right now

More than I should. I was just reading Flex's account of his weight loss and thinking to myself about my lifestyle choices and the one that really stuck out was my soda consumption. I tend to drink a lot at work, but not much at home. I can easily put away 4 cans during the day which is a lot of calories and sugar. I've quit before (and lost weight). It's just a question of deciding to do it and then following through.
Just an insane amount of sugar in pop. You could try weaning yourself off by switching to diet stuff. I rarely drink pop now, but when I do I have to do sugarfree because the sugared stuff is way too intense.
I just find the fake sugar to taste awful and Im also not convinced it is "better" for you than real sugar.
Yep.

I find bad beer is heavily carbonated which masks how bad it is, also why it is usually served cold. Good beer usually has light carbonation and is fine served at a moderate temp.

Soda/pop whatever you call it is similar it's bad when its flat and when its warm.

Oh yeah, I'm not calling for heavy carbonization in beer or pop. Just enough to create a zest that better excites the taste buds. The lack of zest altogether noticeably dulls the flavour and experience.

Ice cold fizzy lager, delicious.
Flat warm pint of Best Bitter, equally delicious.

I drink one soda a week, maybe less. I like the Mexican Coke and Fanta in the glass bottle. It’s shity for you, no doubt, but I love it. I try to save it for special occasions.
