If you don't care about the look, vaping really helped me but obviously it's your choice and what works best for you. At the end of the day, you're doing great getting to day 9, those first 3 days were hell I remember.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 1:51pmI used these lozenges for a few days but they were vile. Used an e cig to control cravings, still on that stupid looking thing to this day, better than cigarettes but can't quit the nicotine! What's your preferred help, gum/vape/patches or something else?BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 1:10pmI fell off the wagon last month and had to go for it again. Is your honey a smoker too?
Re: Hello Friends
Well that's a good thing. I've had friends who try amd quit but their partner smokes so it becomes a lot harder if they aren't of the same mind set.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 10:18pmNot her, just me.revbob wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 3:47pmNever give up on quitting.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 1:51pmI used these lozenges for a few days but they were vile. I dont know if this hurts or helps but my dad always poo pooed the idea of quitting until a doctor told him he had lung cancer. He stopped immediately. You don't smoke nearly as much as he did. We've only hung out once but I consider you a friend and really hope you can work thru this.

Oh, I’m doing this. It’s got to be done. I’m sick of it and increasingly self conscious about it.revbob wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019, 10:41pmWell that's a good thing. I’ve been good. I have fallen off a few times while traveling. It’s difficult being by myself in a foreign city, away from those I’d be ashamed to smoke in front of.

Re: Hello Friends
I can't recall whether I mentioned this before, but I was stunned when we moved here ten years ago how many people smoked (mainly Francophones). I'd never realized how few people still smoked back in Saskatchewan (compared to when I was growing up, anyway), but here, holy crap, spending any time outdoors you're going to come across people smoking. Clearly a cultural thing.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑07 Sep 2019, 1:16amI’ve been good. I have fallen off a few times while traveling. Yeah Quebec is still a smoking province.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Sep 2019, 7:05amI can't recall whether I mentioned this before, but I was stunned when we moved here ten years ago how many people smoked (mainly Francophones). That's my reaction when I go to New York City. Speaking of, I ended up at a casino at the Nevada/California border on Saturday and god casinos are the worst hot boxes.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: Hello Friends
Both, but I think the ritual more so. My favorite thing to do as a smoker was to get in my car, roll my windows down, blast some music and smoke. Plus, I still think smoking (cigarettes, not vaping thingies) looks cool.

Re: Hello Friends
This is undeniably true. Probably why the habit never caught on with me—cool knows damned well to stay away from me.
