I mentioned it before, but it's amazing that the Nationals' season ends in the wildcard game if the Brewers' RF fields the ball cleanly.

edit: I'm going to bed.
Does this World Series run start September 10th when Christian Yelich fractures his kneecap? He would have been in right during the wild card game instead of rookie Trent Grisham and would have fielded that ball cleanly.
Maybe. He's capable of committing errors, too. But, yes, one of the dots in the pattern is the fractured kneecap that leads to Grisham being in RF. I love those kinds of little forks in the road that determine the constellation of what ended up happening.

The final game of the season coincided with our first snowfall. That somehow feels fitting. The end of the baseball season is always a pretty depressing moment for me. I grieve it every year. Sure, I know in the grand scheme of things that it's just a game, but I'd also argue that for many of us it's more than just a game. Baseball has been something that has bound generations of my family together and now it's something I'm sharing with my son. Every season feels precious.

Observed by someone else, the Nationals and Mariners are still tied for fewest WS game wins at home.

I had an upset stomach last night and couldn't sleep. Seeing the Nats victory made me feel instantly better. :approve:

No snow here but I echo your sentiments. Although my son doesn't care a bit about baseball in that respect very much his mother's son.

I saw reliever Sean Dolittle isn't going. Haven't seen any other names. Someone will be paying for their own happy meal that day.

Doolittle's the only I've heard about so far. Can't imagine he'll be the only one.
