Ratty's first post of a new MLB thread is always pure beauty.

And now begins my annual attempts to bump to the second page so it doesn’t take 80 years to load next visit.

I sure can’t wait for the Cubs to not really improve the team and sign or retain more domestic abusers and/or homophobes. Maybe the owners could give more money to Trump while claiming poverty.

I am legitimately worried the Sox aren't going to do anything to address the 'pen and overpay Kimbrel at the last minute.

I'm pretty sure Dustin Pedroia is done and I'm sad because I really thought he'd make the Hall.

We're not going to extend Mookie, are we? Alternatively, we're going to overpay Bogaerts instead.

Alex Cora should have won manager of the year.

Why the fuck are we carrying three catchers on our 25-man? Trade Swihart already.

If the BBWAA doesn't vote Edgar Martinez in, I might riot.

I'm pretty sure the Yankees are going to win the division and probably the world series in 2019. Fuck the Yankees.

1. Meh, not my money. Henry et al are rich like Nazis.
2. Me too. He's a real-life Tanner Boyle.
3. If Mookie's not interested in a long-term deal before free agency, not much you can do. Bogaerts doesn't seem the kind of player to back up the van for. Solid, solid guy, but he's a Boras guy, so g'bye.
4. Yeah, but Manager of the Year is a fucked-up award. Just call it the "beat pre-season predictions" award.
5. Keep Swihart, dump Leon. Blake's not a butcher behind the plate and has a lot more versatility and a better bat than the other two.
6. He's no Harold Baines or Jack Morris, y'know.
7. I'll feel differently come next October, I'm sure, but for now I just don't have much hate in my heart for the Yankees. It'll be much easier to hate them if they sign Machado, but then if he ends up being a Cano who dogs it after getting the big deal, I can enjoy that, too.

It's always funny, but it is SO MUCH FUNNIER when it's the umpire.

Nope, Sox fan first and foremost. 15 Years of titles and I still have the mentality that the Sox are one step away from being perennial basement dwellers. Watching the Pats decline is...fine. Watching the Celtics just be mediocre...is fine. I don't give a shit about hockey. But god a three game losing streak for the Sox and I'm advocating for firing Dombrowski.

I mean I know we're in a good spot. I know we're going to make the playoffs. But I'm also certain we're a series away from watching the Yankees hoist another trophy.

So far I’ve been to the following parks...
Fenway
Citi (Mets)
Yankee Stadium
Citizens (Phillies)
Camden Yards (Orioles)
Oakland Coliseum
Olympic Stadium (Expos)
Flex Memorial (Rockies)

Kudos to the Yankees for improving the quality of their DL this season.

They need a Proven Veteran™ in Tampa to look for the desiccated remains of Jacoby Ellsbury underneath the Legends Field bleachers. At league minimum with the Inderses on the hook for the other $19.5M of this year's salary, I'll take it.
