I quit after it was 9-6(?) because I couldn't stand Joe Buck anymore (plus I knew the Sox weren't coming back). Either my tolerance has completely eroded or he's gotten worse, but he fucking ruins games for me now.

ARod is in the booth today. I give it to the guy. His post-pro game is working out very well for him. He's a natural at this. I mean, I heard he loved the game so much that he never shut up about it.

I enjoy him as a commentator. So much better than some of the others doing that job.

Old timers claim that McCarver was once a darned good analyst, back when he started out. But he got dumber and dumber as he went along and the English language became more and more foreign. One glorious moment still sticks with me, from I think the 2004 ALCS, when he said that "a walk is as good as a home run" … assuming the next guy hits a home run.

That occurred to me too, athletes get constant physicals though, irregular heartbeats get detected, don't they? I immediately thought of Darryl Kile, and I see on comment sections that so did a ton of other people. I guess we'll find something out eventually.
