Didn't know he had it in him.

Imagine if they had a mic on Billy Martin back in the day.

Two sides to every DFA (Matt Harvey)

''The decision was made because we felt like it would increase our chance of winning games,'' Angels manager Brad Ausmus said after discussing the move with general manager Billy Eppler. ''Matt was a very well-liked teammate, a guy that everyone pulled for, including myself. But we're in the business of winning baseball games. In talking to Billy, we just felt like this was the best move to make in order to help us win games.''

“When you’re there on a one-year contract and you have younger guys you want to look at, they’re going to make their own decisions,” said agent Scott Boras, who has represented Harvey throughout his career. “So I don’t think [the move] has a lot to do with Matt Harvey as much as it does what the Angels wanted to do moving forward.”

cost cutting move. The Rockies have a few younger, cost controlled guys DJ was "blocking." I'm skeptical any of them will be better than DJL was, but the Rox management have never been known to pass up an opportunity to spend less money regardless of on-field results.

Addendum: and, obviously, it has not been working out results-wise.

I watched the game yesterday. It was zipping along super quick until that. Seemed perfect that Angel Hernandez would be at the centre of that clusterfuck. One thing I found amusing is that after all the delays, Devers grounded out on the first pitch to end the inning.
