Very sorry for your loss, K, but appreciate your reinforcing how we take this game of multi-millionaires and statistics and make it something personal and affectionate. The wins and championships are great, but it's about the memories they help us make with people we love.

A very moving take on how sports and especially baseball - can tie us together. A common thread connecting generations. Sorry for your loss, my friend.

Kevin, They was a very touching read. Reminded me of my Uncle Bill, who died suddenly of a stroke two days after his last Cubs game. Unfortunately, he was several years shy of 2016.

UPDATE: I read Green Fields of the Mind at my grandmother's service today and wore her favorite Red Sox jacket to do it.

The Astros are currently -550 odds at Caesars vs the Angels today, which would eclipse their mark set earlier this season as the heaviest favorite in at least the last 15 yrs
