Allergies and colds are harder to handle now. My face feels like it's going to burst.
I take a nose spray AND a pill every day. It's the only way to get through.
The nose spray worked really well, but it caused major nose bleeds. Pills don't do anything for me.

Literally two days ago I was boasting I haven't had to take a hayfever tablet this year yet. (Usually terrible for me May-September.) Today, eyes so itchy that they feel on fire, nose is basically a snot tap and plenty of baby scaring and tears from my sneezes.

I haven't had £10000 in my bank yet.

Just got back from seeing an opthamologist who confirmed my right eye cataract. He said he was surprised that I did as well as did on the eye chart test beforehand. Better still, it's a rapidly progressing sort that should leave me fucked well and good in that eye in about six months. And my left eye has one developing, too. So it's now a matter of how long I have to wait for surgery/whether I can be bumped, or can I get a seeing-eye dog to help with lectures and grading.

Gonna PM Kaleb for recommendations on his favourite blind fruit-based blues musicians now.

GET THE DOG! GET THE DOG!

In all seriousness, that really sucks. And you seem awfully young to have cataracts. Did the doc say why?

do you get to start carrying around a beatin' cane to put whippersnappers who call pink flag a punk album in their place?

Sorry man. Hope the surgery ends up being a good option, obviously.

Thanks, folks. Cataract surgery is pretty routine nowadays and the doctor said there was nothing that gave him pause when he examined my eyes. There's no full guarantee, but there's no reason for concern, I don't think. My only worry is going blind before it happens. I can even deal with the shame of printing out lecture notes in 36 pt font.

Sounds rough, Doc. Hope you manage to get scheduled for surgery sooner rather than later.
