Do we have a podcast thread?

Post by WestwayKid »

Do we? If so, disregard...if not...well...discuss/recommend your favorite podcasts!

I'm just listening to The Dollop episode that talks about New Jersey's infamous Action Park. It never stops being funny. This was actually the podcast that got me into podcasts. My sister - who shares my sometimes dark send of humor - recommended it and I was hooked. It's a good mix of weird history and dark humor.

My favourites are:
My Dad Wrote a Porno
Darknet Diaries (stories about hacking)
Inside the Black Box (airplane crashes)

Not quite sure what this says about me.

I've been meaning to listen to My Favorite Murder. Heard good things about it.

I started listening to this one a few years back. It was hilarious.

It's good. This is another one my sister got me into. They go to some pretty dark places, but it's never ghoulish.

The Ricky Gervais Show. Gervais, Merchant and Pilkington are hilarious together. Going through the whole archive every night on the dog walk at the moment. Get some odd looks when I suddenly burst out laughing for no apparent reason.

I can't seem to get into podcasts. Any time I have for listening to something as opposed to watching it goes to music. I can't find the time for podcasts, even though many of them interest me.

i sort of wax and wane with podcasts - when i'm in a good groove running i'll listen to 'em and when i have a decent commute. I don't, like, sit around the house listening to podcasts since that's time I'd rather go into music or film (or whatever).

This is me. They're good for long commutes, but I'd never put them above music. I will go through periods where I'll binge them at work, however.

I listen to some while exercising -

Halloweenies - A monthly horror movie podcast. 1st season was the Halloween franchise. This season is A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Behind the Bastards - a look at shitty public figures.

QAnon Anonymous - an examination of the crazies and conspiracy theories amongst the right. Usually revolving around the Q conspiracy from 8chan.

Revolutions - recounting revolutions in history. The host is finishing up the series now with the MEGA revolution. The Russian revolution.

Other paranormal podcasts - Jim Harold's Campfire, Spooked (from NPRs Snap Judgement people), etc.

According to iTunes, I'm subscribed to a Pixies podcast, tho I've never listened to it. I've listened to the two iterations of Slow Burn, which were okay. I preferred the Watergate one because it went into a few of the less well-known facets of it. The Clinton one just left me furious at that asshole.
