You picked a fine time to leave us, Kenny Rogers …
You missed a golden opportunity to use an obvious gambler reference.
No love for the “Lucille” one I did use?
A bit esoteric ...or probably just me because the Gambler is the only song of his I know. I had to look yours up.

Two dumb Kenny Rogers-related jokes I remember as a kid:
What did the farmer say to his broken wagon? You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel.
What do you call Dolly Parton's boobs when she's having a bath? Islands in the stream.

Duet with Dolly Parton in the early 80s. Pretty sure it reached #1.

I really liked that song he did about superman a few years ago. Feels especially poignant today.

That’s the one that became Ghetto Superstar right?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I'm a little ignorant when it comes to Kenny Rogers but The Gambler is a wonderful tune.

I can't find the post and I want to quote it correctly, but I saw someone write that Kenny Rogers checking out 2 weeks into the Apocalypse is the most "know when to fold em" shit of all time.
