Denny O'Neil, 81. Far from a household name, but one of the most significant comic book writers of his time. Credit (or blame) can go to him and Neal Adams for laying the foundation for dark and gritty comics.

Ian Holm was great in Fifth Element and the one about the kids that die in the bus crash. I was very in tune with his filmography during the second Clinton administration.
