The giant peacock demands tribute in human blood.
Anyone else here read the last panel as, "I had to 'do' a volcano"?

Also, new Rusty looks like Jim Carroll.
Ha! A step up from a primordial Ted Cruz.

Apparently he didn't hit him hard enough because he got right back up and is sending his Markbot to catch Mark who makes it to the boat in time amd luckily its going downhill if it was uphill he might have gotten caught.

Cut to flashback of Mark's dad trying to teach him how to row as a child and getting way more frustrated than is called for.

True story: When I was, like, 8 or 9, my dad, who was deeply uninterested in me a person, decided it was time for me to learn to be a man. He grew up on a farm during tough times doing all kinds of grinding chores, and so should I. He sends me up in a tree and tells me to saw off a dead limb. No instruction, just go do it. Again, I'm 8 or 9. And I fail miserably. And he is visibly disappointed in me. My mother, who was always extremely protective of me—I was the youngest and the weirdo—was furious with him for setting me up to fail like that.

In short, I'm Mark Trail, baby!

My lawyers have advised me not to speak to that. I will, however, entertain questions about the Venezuelan grasshopper!

Did you ever purposefully abandon a Venezuelan grasshopper or anybody else during a snowstorm in the Himalayas?

It depends on how you define "ever," "a," "or," and "in."
