The artwork in panel 2 is really wonky. Mark appears to have had his torso shrunk.
Also, I wonder why the lamp in panel 1 is apologizing to Mark?

I thought it was the stress getting to him, what with Rusty being a goth and his life partner Andy on his death bed and Cherry just wants him to win that damn award at all costs so she has an excuse to get a new purple shirt.

I could definitely go for a "Mark has a psychotic break" storyline. Just feverishly talking to inanimate objects, thinking he's a hornet or something.
