i usually kind of like the albums where hardcore and/or oi bands tried to go metal and/or new wave.
I usually do too. My favorite Circle Jerks album is Wönderful.

Sometimes the albums are quite good, like Wönderful or Blitz's The Killing Dream. Sometimes they're hilaribad and misguided like those boston hardcore bands such as SSD and FU's going metal and hard rock, but they're rarely actually dull.

I don't like the Pretenders. (This week's top 5 reminded me of this).
I won't go as far as you, but I've never found them any more than okay (and that's the singles).
Same here. Never was a fan.

The Pogues are fun for an album or so* and then I don’t need to hear them again for 6-8 months.

Was such a good day when I realised bands I love don't need me to intervene as free PR whenever a different opinion to mine was expressed.

Same. I particularly hate that song where she sings about how special she is.

I'll say, and probably get some agreement, that after the 2 dudes kicked they were hardly good at all.

Those unpopular opinions seem surprisingly popular.

I think their recent stuff has been pretty good. But there's definitely a black hole in their catalog.

Ditching the devil of fandom is such a release. That you don't need that validation from others to confirm your enjoyment. It's cool when someone else likes the same stuff because it might help build a relationship or further one, but, oh no, other people don't like my obsessions, what will I do?! Silly in retrospect, but I remember when it mattered.
