Re: Unpopular Opinions
I like the Pogues ok. I guess I'm a little turned off but the whole celebration of Irish alcoholism thing. It feels a little minstrel show to me these days.
I like the Pretenders OK but I'm not going to bat for them.
There are two good Indiana Jones films and two bad ones. The next one is the tie breaker, I can't wait.
A manual transmission car is so much better than an automatic.
Dark meat chicken is superior in every way.

I've driven a manual my entire car driving life. Love it except 90% of the time i'm driving which is stop and go. Fucking miserable.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑22 May 2020, 10:39pm

Dark meat chicken is superior with the one exception of fried chicken I think I might prefer white because the deep fat fry + dark meat is a little too greasy. Not a strong opinion for me tho.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I think I still slightly prefer dark meat in friend chicken, but only slightly, for the reason you state.matedog wrote: ↑23 May 2020, 12:12amI've driven a manual my entire car driving life. The difference is even starker in turkey. My god, regular white meat turkey cooked as perfectly as possible is still just kind of ok.

I only drive for groceries or pleasure, I think that makes a marked difference.matedog wrote: ↑23 May 2020, 12:12amI've driven a manual my entire car driving life. Love it except 90% of the time i'm driving which is stop and go. Fucking miserable.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑22 May 2020, 10:39pm

I'd go even further and say that chicken thighs are the best meat on the bird, fried or otherwise.

Nothing to do with lazy more to do with efficiency and environment.

Same. I watched a few Dr Whos with Christopher Eccleston as I like his acting but it's not for me. And don't get me started on Star Wars.101Walterton wrote: ↑23 May 2020, 1:24amI don’t like and don’t watch:

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

It's best use is in a sandwich and don't get me wrong it's good but there is a lot of bacon madness around the world.101Walterton wrote: ↑23 May 2020, 4:55pmHmm bit of a wide ranging statement, lots of different bacons and lots of different uses?
