When we visited Cooperstown in 2005, it was a Sunday in April. How do I know this? One of the souvenir shops was closed and rather defiantly explained that it was honouring the sabbath (unlike *harumph* everyone else on the street). It also had a lot of Jesus-playing-sports crap in the window, like this:

A friend of mine who's a basketball fan and a militant atheist had it (fuck, I may have bought it for him, now that I think of it).
