Haircuts in the time of Plague

Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

Oh yeah. The nearest place that had it was about a 4-5 hour drive away at least.

Like Wolter, I have no actual memory of OK Cola. I did mention it in a lecture on postmodernism as part of the "how do we advertise to cynical media savvy Xers" trend of the 90s when anti-style was a bullshit thing. That and Sprite's series of ads self-consciously deconstructing ads to show that it's "real."
See above. It was only marketed in select area. They went hard in the northeast.
I have (perhaps false) memory of seeing it in a truck stop, so maybe I had a near encounter on a road trip in the US. But certainly never tasted it.

Mudslides here, you all get the point though. This was a time when a punk alt nonconformist was looking for anything to be wryly ironic. The well oiled culture vulture crack marketing gurus from Coke zeroed in on this perfectly with OK soda. The real problem was that they sold an idea rather than a sellable soft drink. My clique loved everything about OK soda except for actually buying and drinking it. All this said, I love everything about the OK soda marketing experiment. I feel stupidly and rarely proud of GenX on this one.

Same here. It's GenX ennui in graphic form. I never saw the OK soda machine in person but apparently the few that still exist fetch big money.

I used it today. A friend was looking for someone to play softball this weekend.
