Wonder how A Fish Called Wanda holds up these days. Remember it being first class so suspect it would still be quality. Kline was totally boss in it.
Still good. Kline carries that movie.
We are major Kline Kollectors here in my house. We even saw him on Broadway a few years ago in a great Noel Coward play.
I'm thinking I saw that on PBS, and he was wonderful. Ever see him do Hamlet? Awesome. The guy has so much range and his physical comedy is *chef's kiss*
Interesting stuff. I was going to ask what other great roles Kline has performed because for the life of me, i couldn't come up with many which surely has to be my bad. Something in which he plays a president but doesn't stick out in my memory. Fierce Creatures as mentioned is decent.
You're thinking of Dave for the president one. He's also played Erroll Flynn, Cole Porter, and a randy Frenchman. He's beyond good in Soapdish.
I'd like to see that Hamlet. He's done a bunch of Shakespeare stuff—Midsummer, As You Like It, etc.

Oh yeah,Soapdish i recall being good. Realising there's a lot of Kline movies I've never got around to watching. The cast list for midsummer night's dream looks really interesting.
I've never heard the setup to that joke, always only the punchline.
The set-up can vary however you want, but my preference is two kids are playing at recess and one slips and falls on a picket fence. The other runs in to tell the teacher that a piece of wood has gone up his friends ass. The teacher corrects him: "You mean rectum." The kid says, "Rectum? Damn near killed him!"

[slaps knee]
I probably first heard that joke when I was 10. Still makes me laugh like I was 10.
