There are times I tell myself that Last Crusade is better, but, no, Raiders is the gold standard of adventure flicks.

Yeah, I agree with that statement. Raiders is a movie I could watch time and time again.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑22 Dec 2020, 9:51amThere are times I tell myself that Last Crusade is better, but, no, Raiders is the gold standard of adventure flicks.

Although it's at the end of the 80s, When Harry Met Sally. Brilliant movie.

Do the Right Thing is a stone cold classic. Stand by Me is also v.good. A movie I enjoyed more on 2nd viewing which is quite unusual for me.WestwayKid wrote: ↑22 Dec 2020, 9:15amA couple off the top of my head: Stand by Me, Clue, Beetlejuice, Do the Right Thing.

I got to see Do the Right Thing in the theater as part of a festival about 1.5 years ago, really glad I did.FarawayTowns wrote: ↑22 Dec 2020, 2:45pmDo the Right Thing is a stone cold classic. I thought Mimi was referring to the Crystal Skull for a second and and got mildly excited.

"Mildly excited" is the biggest rave I've encountered for that movie.
(And yet I'll watch it most times that it's on. Even crappy Indy is fun.)

Watching Flash Gordon (1980) right now. That and Highlander (1986) might be the best way to appreciate Queen. I still love both movies.
Also, anyone remember Fortress (1985, Rachel Ward)? About Australian school kids abducted by masked kidnappers (Father Christmas, etc.). Loved that as a kid and it’s still pretty awesome.

My daughter watched it with me when she was about 10 and loved it. I know it's a 15 certificate but she seems undamaged by it.JennyB wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 3:19pmI love Stand By Me.
