Whatever my measured doubt about this season, the Bloom/Cora team at top gives me great confidence about the team going forward. The best guys since since Epstein/Francona.

WTF? Ratty would do a10 page treatsie on this.

MLB rumors: Yankees trade Mike Tauchman to Giants
The MLB thread hasn't been the same without Ratty doing PR work for Cashman's genius.
Over the last year I’ve hiked a lot on New England. I often get to a not-so-high peak and look out over the rolling hills thinking, “He’s out there.”.

Ugh. It must have been glaringly obvious if MLB didn't try to cover it up.

Yikes. Not to diminish any form harassment takes, but I don't think they do this unless it's both particularly disturbing behavior AND (as you say) pretty cut and dried that he did it.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

We finally get agreement on the deal right before the window closes, and so he invites us back to the study to print out the agreement and sign it. And I notice as he's printing out the agreement, there on his desk is a dogeared copy of this book, "Negotiating for Dummies."

Simmons laughs.

Theo: That's what he'd been doing. He'd been going back there and referring to it.
Plausible, Theo, but Schilling was actually consulting Mein Kampf on how to negotiate with Jews.

I was joking, but your conclusion is still valid. It really is remarkable that someone so key to ending the drought is widely loathed now. How do you go from legit "never pay for another meal in this town" to "go fuck yourself, Nazi"?

Few have the ability and character to do so. Not since, like, 1945.
