One of those awful Aflac commercials with Deion Sanders and that stupid old white guy came on and my wife asked about Deion "did he play baseball" ?

Which made me think. He was a decent baseball player but a HOF football player. Granted he gave up baseball but it speaks to how difficult baseball can be.

I imagine it's largely that 162 game / 5+ mos season—just grinding it day in and day out. One game of football is much harder on the body than one game of baseball, but fewer days off is what is so rough. It really makes Ripken's record impressive.
