In March, dude bet $30,000 on Shoei and won $900,000.

Jesus effing Christ—Scherzer to the Mets for 3/130M. The guy's a 1st ballot HoFer and a horse, but he's 37 and finished the season with a dead arm. So they're going to pay him, like, $1.3M per start? And, because it's the Mets, you know he's going to miss a season after tripping over a suitcase and blowing out his ACL.

It kinda reminds me of the Yankees getting Randy Johnson after 2004. Huge name to compensate for a collapse, but a dumb baseball move that didn't work out.

Paying an old pitcher a lot of money usually only pays off for the pitcher.

I mostly don't give a shit about HoF selections, but I will let out a genuine chortle if he fails on his last try.

He does that while polishing his Nazi medal collection.

All sports owners are assholes, but baseball seems to breed a particular type of pettiness when it comes to labour relations.

I ran into Bill Lee tonight when I stopped by one of the local brewpubs (Zero Gravity) tonight on my way home from work.
