Omg, can you imagine how embarrassing doc would be? He might crack a half smile.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead

I'd have been super cool and only talked Expos with him.

I've cried over two baseball things this year. Jerry Remy passing away and Buck O'Neil getting elected to the Hall of Fame. One so sad and one so happy.

The only regret is that Buck wasn't alive to enjoy it. But his inclusion is an intense infusion of goodness into the HoF.Boddington wrote: ↑05 Dec 2021, 7:36pmI've cried over two baseball things this year. Currently watching Game 6, 2001, Diamondbacks and Yankees. Andy was pitching...rather badly too.

I'm watching that one, too. Very enjoyable (apart from the announcers).
I'm guessing '79's Game 7 will be on, which I expect you'd be into.

Re: MLB 2021
That was the first WS I ever watched. Even tho the Pirates edged out my Expos in the standings, I watched, amazed that a team could come back from 3-1. Now I kinda wish the Orioles won because I love Earl Weaver, but the Pirates seemed so fun, especially their strange hats and looking like bumble bees.Mimi wrote: ↑07 Dec 2021, 8:42pmOooooh, I'll dvr it. Re: MLB 2021
So many cool players on that Pirates team. Kent Tekulve looked like a science teacher; Dave Parker was a fucking giant; Phil Garner worked in a steel mill between games. I've got the dvd set of that series and it was just magical to watch. I can burn you a set if you want (cheapskate Xmas present!).Mimi wrote: ↑07 Dec 2021, 9:10pmThose were the good old days.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Dec 2021, 9:01pmThat was the first WS I ever watched. The Pirates were the team to root for in that series.

I saw it as a kid. I loved Kent and his odd pitching style. But I had a mad crush on Tim Foli.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Dec 2021, 9:27pmSo many cool players on that Pirates team. Re: MLB 2021
Better versed in baseball history now, I’d have a hard time cheering against Earl Weaver. Not saying I’d change my mind, but Earl was such a smart and colourful manager (he and Billy Martin were of a type) that it gives some pause. Plus the Orioles had John Lowenstein …
… who somehow wasn’t Jewish.
