Re: MLB 2021
So, a World Series in two states that are experiencing boycotts due to authoritarian policies on voting and reproductive rights. Yay, everyone loses!

I'd rather the fan bases of both get swallowed up by a black hole.

Sorry Doc and Flexo and our Red Sox friends.
I will refrain from dancing on graves as my Leafs are dying.

Braves have a likeable team, I guess? Plus Freddie played for Team Canada and seems like a good dude.

Re: MLB 2021
I have to say, I had a feeling about Houston.
I have to say, I did not see the Braves doing it.
As a Mets fan for many a decade, I just cannot bring myself to root for the Braves. And I also hate that Freddie Freeman does seem like a good guy (as he year after year beats my team with yet another big hit).
I do not like the Astros either, but I respect them on the field. They are good and I hate that too.
I am one of those people who do not really care for Dusty Baker at all. Old grudges die hard
The Braves played better than any of the other NL teams these last 2 weeks so I have to say they are capable of winning if they continue to do what they do. They out-grinded the grinders to win the NL and to win this series they will need to do more of that.
My head is telling me that Houston is good enough to beat the Braves and probably should win.
My head said the same thing about the Dodgers though.

From what I see there's still a little hope

Re: MLB 2021
Agreed. The Dodgers and Astros both have solid bats, but the Dodgers have better pitching (even if the Dodgers lost a number of arms along the way). And the Braves were close to sweeping them (subtract Bellinger's late-inning homer in Game 3). The Braves absolutely can win this even tho on paper it's the Astros.

Re: MLB 2021
Huge story today about Ed Rogers trying to get rid of Masai (beloved Raptors GM)
He’s the guy in charge of the Jays who also secretly tried to get Kenny Williams in to replace Paul Beeston, only to be thwarted when Jerry Reinsdorf found out about it and tipped Beeston, a close friend, off. Also tried to replace AA with Dan Duquette mid-season. In the end, he managed to effectively fire AA after the magical 2015 run where Anthopolous won executive of the year after being let go.
Oh and his wife posted this earlier this year:

It's practically criminal how the Jays, playing in one of the bigger media markets (and officially control all of Canada), and are owned by a huge telecom but are run like a AAA team in terms of their budget and commitment to professionalism.
