Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

Man, in the old days, Boone would have been canned, Billy Martin replacing him, and George readying Yogi or Lemon in another few weeks.

If Tampa and Boston win their series against them this week, the hitting coach is going to be thrown on the pyre, with the pitching coach next. Way too much talent to be so mediocre.

Really neat seeing in my lifetime increasing numbers on the right turning against business and the free market. Unfortunately it comes with the allure of fascism, but still!

Hirokazu Sawamura of the Sox looks like an actor from the 70s or 80s, but I can't think who. Which means on countess episodes of MASH. Any thoughts or am I huffing from Heston's bag of glue on this?

Nor the same nationality twice—Japanese, Chinese, Korean, even Egyptian if need be.

Yeah as a kid the lack of consistency always bothered me. They also did this with various white actors which seemed pretty common in the 70s/80s.

As a kid, I was irritated that Harry Morgan played an insane racist general before playing Col. Potter. Why didn't the other characters recognize this!?! I was way too literal a kid to understand casting.

I don't recall his character, just knew he'd had a past one off role.

I want to say early on Hawkeye would write letters home and his mother was alive and then later on his mother died when he was a kid, or vice versa.

Yeah, I remember that. One of the ten thousand letters home episodes in the first season, he mentions a mother and sister in the present tense. One that I don't know is a glitch or a really subtle joke has Frank Burns, proving his super patriotism, indignantly telling someone that his family came to America in, like, 1926. The joke seems to be that his parents are immigrants and so he has no claim to nativist bigotry (or is especially a jerk for doing so), but Frank is older than 25, so he also has to be an immigrant. I've never been sure whether that's the real joke, tho, because that requires the audience doing math, which I doubt the producers would expect.

Doctor Medulla heard my earlier plea for a "who died and made you mark bellhorn" shirt and, well, prayers do come true. First, I tried for a patented Canadian Smile:

But then, well, my instincts got the better of me:

Thanks Doc! Let's beat the Yankees.

That's more of a Medulla smile as opposed to Canadian. I know many Canadians who are genuinely happy/smiling people. :shifty:
