That's got to be some nasty shit. Ihop uses fake syrup to begin with. Fake maple flavor has got to be one of the worst things in the food realm.

The rain just shifted to snow about 20 mins ago here. 3-7 cm is the estimate, but it'll be gone by tomorrow.

The last of my backyard's big snow pile finally disappeared on Saturday (I think Jesus died for its sins the day before), so, yeah, new snow is a bit of a fuck you.revbob wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 8:02amYeah I know this wont last but its a mental kick in the nuts.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 7:45amThe rain just shifted to snow about 20 mins ago here. 3-7 cm is the estimate, but it'll be gone by tomorrow.

As somehow who left an area that occasionally got snow when he was 13, this adult hatred of snow is baffling. Snow’s great! No school! Sledding! Hot chocolate! Zero downsides.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: RevBob's Maple Soaked Socialist Paradise
I think shoveling it would get old pretty fast myself. Wife tells me we can't move to an area with snow because after I'm gone she won't be able to plow the road. Guess she's got it all figured out that I'm going to be the first to go.

No way. That’s just a money making opportunity for you and your bros so you can go to the mall and buy a Sega Genesis game.

And yet, people who live in snowy climates almost universally grumble about it. We might have some insight that confounds your view.

Can I put it towards a pachinko machine instead?

I didn't mind snow until it got dirty brown and crusty - it was just an ugly nuisance...then there's mud season.

How about this for something relatable to non-kids: snow days = extra days/no late fees on your Blockbuster rental of Judge Dredd or Hackers.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 9:54amAnd yet, people who live in snowy climates almost universally grumble about it. Growing up, I can't remember ever having a snow day. Ever. For kids who lived out in rural areas and were bussed in, they got snow days if the busses weren't running, but for those of us who walked to school or drove, business as usual. The only time I've ever experienced a snow day was while living in NC.matedog wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 11:16amHow about this for something relatable to non-kids: snow days = extra days/no late fees on your Blockbuster rental of Judge Dredd or Hackers.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 9:54amAnd yet, people who live in snowy climates almost universally grumble about it. Yeah Northern Virginia got 2-3 snow days a year except the blizzards we got ever 3 or 4 years. 96 I got a whole week off and watched my Dazed and Confused and Reservoir Dogs rentals like three times each.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑19 Apr 2022, 11:41amGrowing up, I can't remember ever having a snow day.
