As somehow who left an area that occasionally got snow when he was 13, this adult hatred of snow is baffling. Snow’s great! No school! Sledding! Hot chocolate! Zero downsides.
And yet, people who live in snowy climates almost universally grumble about it. We might have some insight that confounds your view.
How about this for something relatable to non-kids: snow days = extra days/no late fees on your Blockbuster rental of Judge Dredd or Hackers.
Growing up, I can't remember ever having a snow day. Ever. For kids who lived out in rural areas and were bussed in, they got snow days if the busses weren't running, but for those of us who walked to school or drove, business as usual. The only time I've ever experienced a snow day was while living in NC.
Yeah Northern Virginia got 2-3 snow days a year except the blizzards we got ever 3 or 4 years. 96 I got a whole week off and watched my Dazed and Confused and Reservoir Dogs rentals like three times each.
And it does make sense. That is, it's not some cultural bullshit where Canadians are hardier than Southerners, but rather we budget and spend enough on equipment to keep things running when it snows. It doesn't do it enough in the South to spend on the equipment; better to just shut down for a few days.

That's too logical and it negates a populous' ability to look down on those that live further south than them.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Western Canadians do the same thing w/r/t Eastern Canada. Ooo, big babies, need the military to help. Yeah, Western Canada generally doesn't get ice storms and it's also not as urbanized.

I celebrated by putting in some underground drainage hose to send the water from the eaves farther from the foundation! I also identified some leaky areas in the eaves and applied sealant. Livin' the life, baby.

Yeah, but he owns a home, so he's not a real socialist.

You think we will ever get anyone that good in Senate after he passes? I guess Warren is close.

I hope so but even the politicians in Vt pale in comparison. I dont see anyone here in our current political landscape who would even come close and that's been the case since he won the maroral race in 1981. All of his successors have been of the more mainstream variety. I can actually see our current (republican) governor possibly running and winning that seat. People in Vermont certainly reject the modern Republican party but a candidate that has proven to be supportive of more traditional Repuibcan policies while endorsing more modern progressive views could win his seat when he gives it up. But what the fuck do I know.

Looks like you've finally got some good weather in your neck of the woods. Is that a birds nest I'm seeing up there?

What you're seeing is a maple tree with leaves intact and an oak tree almost completely defoliated from spongy caterpillars. That nest is from a fucking squirrel.
