In hindsight I already missed bars before the pandemic because bars in the suburbs suck. What I missed was being able to walk home from a bar.

I had been gradually slowing down my bar attendance too, due to oldness, but still!

I miss that aspect of urban living - going to a bar, seeing a band (playing originals - cover bands are for suburbs), walking home in the dark night by streetlight.

Walking to and from yeah I miss this as well, one of my favorite things about traveling for work when that was still a thing.
