Not exactly an encounter, but fun to check in on periodically throughout the day.

Bald eagle nesting cam at Big Bear Lake, California. One egg was laid 1/11/23, second one on 1/14/23, incubation period of 34-36 days, so they're due to hatch any day now.

Such beautiful and noble-looking birds. I love that the Canada goose is a nasty and hissing but sleek bird, but the bald eagle is more than worthy of being a national symbol.
