Thanks to Mimi for bringing up this great show. The entire cast was great, but Phil Hartman was absolute genius.

So many great episodes...

... the one where Dave's college a cappela group reunites...
...the one where Matthews grows a mustache...
...the one where Jimmy has his autobiography translated into Japanese...

It was actually Doc, but I'll take credit. *coughs*

The only episode I remember was the about an alien autopsy. Is that the right show?

Oh, and can we have an appreciation thread for Phil Hartman's voice. Damn. So smooth.

Yeah, it was an exceptional throwback to the 1970s ensemble workplace comedy.

Yeah, it was an exceptional throwback to the 1970s ensemble workplace comedy.
It might be the last sitcom that I ever cared about.

* The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon excepted, of course.

i didn't appreciate on first watch what good straight man he was (to phil hartman particularly, but also joe rogan and andy dick) when I was a kid, but I did a full rewatch in college at one point and really appreciated his work on the show.

After the first season or so, he gave an interview where he said he had proven his critics wrong: He most certainly could act his way out of a paper bag.
